Heating system for university

In 2008, Vollmer Engineering provided advice to a university in the south west of England on the best strategy for heating buildings on one of the university's campuses. Our advice was to update and extent an existing district heating system, and to switch to a wood-fired boiler which is supported by several of the existing gas boilers. We assisted the university in obtaining listed-building consent for the system, and in receiving a significant capital grant. The biomass system is due to be installed in 2010.
