Wood chip heating for greenhouses

Heating costs for production greenhouses reduced

Leitner Nurseries in Cernay, France, were looking to reduce the heating costs in their production greenhouses for bedding and pot plants. We planned and supervised the installation of a wood-chip heating system delivering 700kW. A 20,000 litre buffer tank smoothes out demand on the boiler. Fuel is stored in a 100m² wood-chip bunker.

The business now saves an estimated $ 32k per year on heating costs. In addition, carbon emissions corresponding to 210,000 liters of fossil fuels are saved every year.
